What if my card is damaged while at TAG?

Updated over a week ago

TAG takes all accusations of damage extremely seriously. If you have reason to believe your card was damaged while in TAG's possession, please follow the steps below:

Contact [email protected] with your TAG grading account e-mail address, your relevant order number, and the certification number of the TAG graded cards you believe were damaged, along with any corresponding information and evidence in the form of images of the card in its TAG slab and the card's TAG grading digital grading report.

Our team will need to flag the relevant department to investigate the matter - this may take several days or even weeks and will often involve a request to return the card to TAG for inspection and potential re-encapsulation if the original grade has been compromised or is otherwise incorrect - in the event our team can confirm the card was damaged in TAG's possession, our team will then follow up regarding appropriate compensation. Please note that TAG insurance compensation is based off the fair market value of the card in its TAG graded condition, and fair market value compensation generally cannot exceed the maximum insured price selected by the customer at the time of the purchase of grading services.

TAG is not responsible for damage to cards on their way to TAG's facility but is able to insure cards which have purchased and used TAG's Submission Kit service. Additionally, we recommend using TAG's insurance options at the time of purchase and insured shipping services for all incoming shipments to best protect cards in the event of issues.

The images on TAG's digital report represent the condition of the card upon receipt to TAG's facility - cards are not handled outside of their card shields before imaging.
