If you do not understand your grade for any TAG Graded card of your own, please reach out to our team at [email protected], who may be able to help explain how to read TAG's grading report if there is any confusion.
β
TAG's digital grading report is designed to be used with the card in hand, to help guide the collector to identify the issues on their own card with the card present as guidance. We encourage all TAG collectors to review TAG's grading rubric at https://taggrading.com/pages/rubric to assist in understanding TAG's criteria for specific grades.
β
It is important to note that in TAG's grading system, scores across subgrades do not average out - they compound, with every deduction across scoring categories taken into account in the overall score. In our system, dramatically lower subgrade scores on cards are weighted, as major deductions are large factors in the overall grade and condition of the card. Generally, a TAG graded card will not grade significantly higher than its lowest subgrade score due to a prominent deviation, e.g. a card with a 8.5 level corner wear defect would most likely grade as an 8.5 overall, and a card with 9 level centering would not be able to achieve a Gem Mint 10 grade overall.
β
TAG's grading system is based on advanced machine-learning models and stereo photometric imaging and is the most technologically-advanced on the market. TAG's system's findings are further analyzed and reviewed during TAG's Verification stage, where trained experts carefully review our system's data to confirm our system is working properly and to prevent false positives and data errors.
β
Generally, TAG will not be able to accept a card for a grade dispute, but we do understand no grading system is perfect and there does exist the possibility of error. If you believe your card has been incorrectly graded, please contact [email protected] with your account e-mail, order number, and the relevant certification number of the card in question as well as an explanation as to what you believe in correct about this card's grading and a representative would be happy to assist you with clarification or further steps.
